Cinema night ‘RODIN’­ w/ Eng. Subs + Cocktail – Lost in Frenchlation

On June 23rd, Lost in Frenchlation is bringing you one of the most highly anticipated films from this year’s Cannes Festival – ‘Rodin’ with English subtitles! This film follows the life of the famous French sculptor, including his infamous romance with his mistress Camille Claudel. Join us at 8pm to get your tickets and enjoy a cocktail before the 9pm screening!

The Plan

The screening will take place at the amazing Studio 28 in the heart of Montmartre – Paris’ oldest cinema rooom which is also one of the city’s most iconic. Join us from 8pm for a film-themed cocktail available from the bar (€4.50, or €6.00 with a packet of popcorn) before the screening starts at 9pm. Tickets available on the door only – please arrive early to avoid disappointment!

‘Paris 1880, Auguste Rodin aged 40, finally receives his first state commission. He creates The Gates of Hell, composed of figurines some of which will become his most famous works: The Kiss and The Thinker. He shares his life with Rose, his lifelong partner, when he encounters the young Camille Claudel. His most gifted student, she quickly becomes his assistant, then his mistress. A decade of passion, mutual admiration and complicity ensues. Following their break up, Rodin continues to work relentlessly. He faces both the condemnation and enthusiasm provoked by the sensuality of his sculptures, and with his Balzac, rejected during his lifetime, creates the undeniable starting point of modern sculpture.’

Studio 28 is located on 10 rue Tholozé, Montmartre 75018 Paris. Tickets to the movie will be available on the night, please arrive early to avoid disappointment. 9€ full price; 7,50€ for students and other concessions.
